1963 Airmail definitives and their papers

The Airmail definitives have been highly neglected - both the 1928 and the 1940 and the 1963 series!

As to the 1963 series the most frequently used paper was from Zárate both uncoated and coated - some however had imported paper from Wiggins Teape or L. Kupferschmidt......

The grooves are predominantly present at the back of the stamps which means - in the context of Zárate that the watermark should read RA instead of AЯ

However, the paper is a bit thicker and more opaque than the previous ones! Nevertheless the watermark reads AЯ!!!!

Is this a second Zárate watermark/dandy-roll?????

But, there is an extra feature! Several plies running parallel to the direction of paper [parallel to the short side of the stamp]

In the Gomez catalogue this referred to as:

Zárate Combinado [ZC '64)
Rayado paralelo a la filigrana y ocacionales rayas perpendiculares. Grueso y duro, opaco y algo poroso.

When I visit Celulosa`s Zárate plant I`ll try to solve the question if there existed one or two dandy rolls each one reading RA or AR
By the way: have you noticed that in these set stamps some are printed with inverted colours sequence? This is seen principally inthe fuselage. Some have a dark one, which is correct, while others have a clear fuselage, which means black was printed first and the other colours after.

I have not paid that much attention to the airmails yet, but I have already posted several messages about the Servicio Oficial having the black printed first. And of course 50c Petroleo with background colour on top....

And recently the Cifras in offset-litho:

The inversion is quite the standard procedure one might think!
