1928 Airmail stamps

On 16.11.1927 a series of Airmail stamps got ordered by the Post Office. They were ready by 10.01.1928 and issued by 01.03.1928. Altogether 19 stamps i 4 designs:

hence only multiples of 5 and 18!

I have noticed three types of paper so far:

- Parallel watermark, AЯ, clearly visible rhombos [granulado]of the symmetrical paper mesh - English paper: both with the direction of paper parallel to the short side of the stamp as to the long side!

- Orthogonal watermark, felt side of the paper at the back, RA visible from the back of the stamp, small sun, symmetrical paper mesh - Austrian paper: both with the direction of paper parallel to the short side of the stamp as to the long side!

- Orthogonal watermark, felt side of the paper at the back, AЯ visible from the back of the stamp, large sun, symmetrical paper mesh - Dutch paper: the direction of paper parallel to the short side of the stamp!

The production of the airmal stamps stopped in 1933 and the stamps were demonetized by 01.04.1936 - see Luca 1939!

So how come the Austriaco paper had survived for another couple of years before popping up in 1937???

The 15c on Austriaco with transposed paper and hence the watermark reading RA from the back:













but somehow only the middle stamp seem to be the real Austriaco although the heart-to-heart measurements of the other 2 are OK as well!

The Casa de Moneda apparently had different layouts. And that was depending on the denominations being a multiple of 18c!

The English paper Wiggins Teape with a parallel watermark has the direction of paper along the long axis of the stamp [M]
for the non-18c's - I have the 5, 10, 20, 25, 35c. Whereas the 18c multiples have the short axis [m]: 18, 36, 54, 72, 90, 108, 180 but ALSO the 1Peso!

Orthogonal watermarks of the Austrian paper have the direction of paper along the long axis [M] for the 18c multiples - turning everything 90 degrees! - as I have the 18, 36, 54, 72, 90, 108, 126, 180, 360 AND the 1peso! The short axis ¨m* is for the 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 50 and the 24c!

Orthogonal watermarks of the Dutch paper only have the short axis [m]: 20, 54, 72, 90 and 1Peso...

The 1948 Sanabria catalogue of Airmail stamps has got a remarkable revelation!!!!
