Black holes in philately!

Mensaje por Rein »

Some take it that black holes in philately are the perforation holes you see when you scan your stamps against a black back-ground! :)

I meant something completely different of course....

Spending almost 50 years in philately one thing I had noticed is that a lot of research - published or not, as it occasionaly does not get further than the album page or the exhibition pages seldom get further than that - never gets picked up by the majority of philatelists. The back numbers of our Revista's get outtasite, attract fungi or other rodents, and nobody looks into them again.... A posting I made a bit earlier today could have referred to an excellent book by a fellow Forero who did mention a lot about the 40c JSM! But who did read that book? Who knows it exists?

Mainstream keepers of the faith - the Vatican should know - are defending the right of the simpleton collector to NOT getting confused by self-appointed specialists in any field.... So it got kept simple, easy to consume up to the momemt that one keeper say something and the other quite the contrary...

By keeping everything simple, research results are getting down the drain into the Black Holes of Philately
