The discussion about the Dutch paper being English or vice versa
Look at the distance between the A and the Я! In the first stamp the leg of the Я is pointing to the leg of the A; whereas in the fourth stamps it is swaying away

Re: 1922-1970? Multiple Sun + AЯ watermark
All stamps displayed in this thread so far have a parallel watermark!!!
The first orthogonal watermarks are assumed to have come from England and have a SMALLER sun!
Look at what Hickethier shows us:
The "horizontal" watermark - whatever horizontal means in this context!!! - was used for all values and has the direction of paper (eje de enrollamiento) horizontally. The diameter of the sun is 8mm. This is exactly what we find at the orthogonal watermarks!
The only other stamps with a horizontal direction of paper have a much larger sun (4c, 5c with AЯ or 2c, 5c with RA)....
.... and as I am showing above a diameter of 10mm

The stamp Javier [JUSO] showed us:
has a parallel watermark - see the blue lined diagonals! They run parallel to the line [renglon] of AЯ!
Javier's stamp can never have the orthogonal watermark of Hickethier's series No 2 as José Merlo wants us to believe

Re: 1922-1970? Multiple Sun + AЯ watermark
The orthogonal watermark of series 2 [Hickethier] has the line of AЯ running vertical and the direction of paper horizontal! In Hickethier words filigrana horizontal and eje horizontal!
In series 6 we have filigrana horizontal and eje vertical! That is, according to Hickethier, but in fact we may have the same watermark as of series 2! Both are orthogonal and have the same "senses" of AЯ and the paper. Whether there is a difference in the design : the sun or the letters or the intersolar joins is to be discussed yet! Hickethier only mentions the diameter of series 2: 8mm, but forgets to mention it for series 6! N.B. Series 6 is assumedly series 7 without the goma rayada!
How come we still have to discuss the notions of horizontal and vertical????? If we look at San Martin and see RA both upright do we call San Martin vertical and RA horizontal???? And what about San Martin upright and RA descending [or ascending] do we call RA vertical??? The latter is the case in our series 2 AND 6! Hickethier prefers to call the filigrana horizontal for both series!!
For series 3 Hickethier does not refer to the filigrana but to the letras!
Anyone for tennis??? What a mess!
