Phosphor screens of Australia

Mensaje por Rein »

The application of phosphor screens on Australian stamps can heavily influence the "design" of a stamp although you may not always realize it is because of that phosphor screen!

Have a look at some recent 50c self-adhesives:

The 2001 self-adhesive birds have at least 3 sources; the comb-like kiss die cut have stamps in coils printed by Pemara, all the others have been printed by SEP Print in either coils, booklets or cards of 5:

Notice the coarse phosphor screen with an angle of some 20 degrees!

The kiss die cut is sinus-like with a rather flat top!

The kiss die cut has tops with a steeper slope! The "Australia" has got a white haze that does NOT belong to the phosphor screen!
