Leonardo,

you said you had some stamps as well with brown fibers!! You apparently had taken them with you for your trip to Colombia!

Yet, you still might show them to José!

Rein,
Are you suggesting that one can identify several paper types according to the colour of their fibers?

Rein,
Papel tela is known to Argentine specialists for over 70 years ago. That you and Tony had found colour fibers in your respective countries does not mean we overlooked that paper for over 60 years. However, that you have found it with colour fibres is not a matter of overlooking. It is a phenomenon that doesn`t
appear in our country. I have inspected hundreds of stamps, mint and used, printed on tela, and was unable to find a single one showing the fibers. Why you do find them in your countries I can´t tell, and if Leidi have one I would like to know how did he get it.
And since your are living in Europe, please tell me whether it is true that acquavit is produced and put inside barrels that must be loaded on a ship that must cross the Equator and return in order to get its distinctive flavour. I was told this by a Danish guy, cousin of an office mate. Is it an "urban legend"? Saludos,
José

Dear friends.

I use to read the post more than add comments. However, must say I can also see those fibers.
Most of the times thought that was normal and, in my opinion, considered it was unnecessary to mention the matter.

Regardless of the above, I dare to show what I easily can see.
When I read this post I decide to look for the "Día del reservista" issue out of a stockbook, and found 4 stamps in an envelope.
The 4 had the fibers !!! I did'nt look for anymore.

Most of the fibers in the Tela papers are brown but you have a copy with red ones!

Rein: That's right. But not only one, but three of them.
If I am not wrong, one of these stamps have red and orange-brown fibers simultaneously !!!
See detail on photo named "fibers07".
