Hello Rein, what is the reason, if there is one, that is quite common the use of chalky paper with Typography printing method?
Thanks

Sergio,

when you look at the Argentina stamps you will see that only a small percentage of typography stamps have a coating! 5c Moreno, 10c Rivadavia chestnut-brown, 20c Torito and 5c JSM, 20c-40c JSM, 2p-20p JSM, but also part of their printings were on uncoated paper as well for some of these stamps... The 1959 50c puma and 1p caballo in typography have no coating!

That in Argentina typography had been used till 1969 is remarkable as elsewhere typography - unless in reel-fed printing - had been abandoned earlier...

Sergio:
Saludos,
Merlo
