I have found this flaw only once myself but Tony Rubiera had mentioned it already:

I only have one or two of these....it must be a single position in the last plate.

Nice dots....now I need to look for them.

What about the following stamps

pyri200_v01b_1200_r1c1.jpg
ZA2 ???

Most of my stamps for this serie looks like this one

Below another I have doubts because of its watermark seen in the traditional way

pyri200_v01b_1200_r2c2_foro.jpg
ZA2 ???

ZA2 is symmetrical paper with orthogonal watermark (m)

Thanks
Sergio

Question about RR1 and RR2
RR1 symmetrical orthogonal watermark
RR2 asymmetrical orthogonal watermark
Is that correct?
Thanks

Sergio,

that is correct! In fact the watermark has been produced most likely in Italy [Pietro Miliano] with the same dandy-roll but with the long wire of the paper machine changed from the traditional symmetrical wire [line binding] to the newly invented (about 1938!) asymmetrical wire [twill binding]. It is the twill binding that is probably stronger but it may also get pulled askew [left and right side of the wire pulled differently] resulting in the weft no longer being perpendicular to the warp!

Weaving is done by intersecting the longitudinal threads, the warp, i.e. "that which is thrown across", with the transverse threads, the weft, i.e. "that which is woven".

This is to be seen as what is called in Argentina: rayado!!!

Thanks, great explanation. What do you think about the stamps, are they ZA2?

Sergio,

Yes, symmetrical Zárate paper! But you should be able to find the asymmetrical version as well!

If you mean it is present with both ZA1 and ZA2, I agree.
If your phrase has a different meaning I don't get it

Sergio,

you may find the 2 pesos both on ZA 1 and on ZA 2!

saludos, Rein

P.S.

I do not think there is just ZA 1-4 ! It takes some study yet but there may be more and/or different types of Zárate paper!
