The P&R I 1 peso with boundaries

I completed a study of this stamp as a test of what I need to for all the others. This is one of the simpler stamps in that it had a limited run (all of 1936) and was printed on one paper (my 1E1, the cream medium thickness paper).

This stamp was issued January 1, 1936, and here is a cover from January 4.

This is the first paper (1E1):

There are two catalogued plate varieties in Klass/Kneitschel:

long vertical line across argentina section of map

retouched left numeral background

Imagen

there is an additional plate variety I find, and it seems to be in one of the master dies because I find two variations:

the most common has a broken curl midway along the right side edge,

here is a detail

Imagen

the second variation also has a line break that I find in two separate specimens (one on cover).

here is the detail

for those who can read Spanish, I also have scans of the three major catalogs for the regular issues and the officials in Kneitschel (the most authoritative source, it seems):

Tony,

having a good look at the pictures I get the feeling that the blue was the 2nd colour to be printed?

Two and a half year later I can tell the base block or root block does NOT consist of a 5x2 block BUT a 10x1 block!

Of all ten stamps at the top row of 10, we can find minor characteristics that repeat themselves downwards 10 times!!! So a characteristic like this will be present in the whole column of 10 stamps!

Kneitschel refers to the long line as of belonging to composition A and the value tablet belongs to composition B!

That means that I have composition B! See position 96!

Tony,

this is NOT a plate flaw! it is a systematical characteristic! One of the 10 out the root block of 10x1. In fact it is position 9!

The whole 9th column has this "flaw"!
