The 10 cent Rivadavia chestnut-brown in offset - type A

Mensaje por Rein »

The various types of paper for the 10c in offset-litho is getting renewed interest!

Patricia showed some examples of the 10c that may be on Dutch paper [1940-1942] but is this possible or true?

Patricia, however, points out that the direction of paper of the item show is vertical and NOT as the Dutch paper is known hitherto including the Pettigian listing] horizontal!

In addition she shows us some copies of the Dutch paper!

Clearly, the direction of paper is horizontal and we have symmetrical paper wire structure! In short "granulado vertical".... This is what we are used to with the other P&R face values in offset-litho and on Dutch paper!

Merlo can only give one more suggestion which is probably the right one!

Adding the blue lines in Patricia's scan:

Imagen

Judging by the steep blue lines, we are dealing here with an Asymmetrical paper wire structure! So NO Papel Holandés

It is supposed to be a rather scarce stamp, but if you know how to look for it. All in all, I have seven copies of this item :)

For those who do not remember the three types [of design] in the 10c Rivadavia chestnut-brown in offset-litho.

The original offset-litho with type A, with the rounded collar - in the blue rectangle, the right vertical brown outline is of the same thickness everywhere:

Imagen

In 1948, the revised type with the pointed collar - as it turns out now, this point was not the only revision, type B - in the blue rectangle the right vertical brown outline is a lot thicker and NOT indented, the top diagonal line is unbroken:

Imagen

the hitherto unknown 3rd - type C that has the collar of type A, but in the detail shown here below is quite different and resembles type B a lot - in the blue rectangle the right vertical brown outline is a lot thicker and indented, the top diagonal line is always broken!
